Starting on 30 August 2021, consultation around a new enrolment scheme will begin for our school. Fairlie Primary School has a current capacity of 150 student spaces. The peak roll in 2020 (October) was 132, meaning that current capacity is 88% utilised. An enrolment scheme is the only legal mechanism available to schools to manage enrolment numbers. You can read about this proposal at: https://consultation.education.govt.nz/education/fairlie-school-new-enrolment-scheme and complete the survey to place your feedback. All students who are currently enrolled before the new enrolment scheme commences are entitled to remain enrolled. Siblings of current students will have priority access to any out-of-zone places offered by the school.
Please read all the information on the above website before placing your feedback. Copies of the proposed enrolment scheme and the survey will be available at the school office once we return to Level 2 or below. Consultation closes on 1 October 2021. Questions about the process can be directed to: Canterbury.EnrolmentSchemes@education.govt.nz Kind regards, Amanda O’Brien
