At Fairlie Primary School our New Entrant programme builds on the skills your child has from earlier years and provides them with a welcoming environment, where they feel comfortable to take risks in learning and social settings.

When your child starts at Fairlie Primary School they will enter one of our New Entrant reception rooms. These are the classrooms where children begin their schooling. The teachers work closely with each cohort of children and whanau to support them to settle into school, establish routines, develop relationships and begin their learning journey.

Children who are enrolled at Fairlie Primary School will have approximately 3 school visits prior to starting school. On these visits children will have the opportunity to meet other children in their class, and begin to familiarise themselves with the class. Visits are also a time for you to ask any questions you may have.
